Just a few of the nice things our clients have had to say about working with us:
Our kitchen needed updating but we wanted to keep it consistent with the rest of the house. Bob solved our problem. The finished product looks great and is much more functional. We notice the updates, but someone seeing it for the first time would never know that it was a renovation. That was our goal.

The new bathroom Bob built became the “wow” feature of our B&B. I watched many guests break into a smile when they walked into the light and spacious bathroom and saw the tub. We received very good reviews and many repeat bookings.

Bob did a fantastic job of turning an unused pantry into a shower for an adjacent bathroom that was far too small. He provided us with a nice kitchen and two baths that we really enjoy. And he updated two rotting decks and built us a nice staircase and railing that fits the period of our home.

We needed a new deck. Bob completed it and we are very happy with the results. It was easy to work with him and his crew. They were especially good at coming up with creative solutions that solved construction related problems in an aesthetically pleasing way.
Kathleen and Bob Horsley
Bob helped us design and build a backyard deck. The job was not entirely straightforward, since the deck needed to be very low to the ground and supported over both concrete and dirt. Bob worked closely with us to develop a design that was aesthetically pleasing, structurally sound, and within our budget. Minor changes along the way were accommodated; the work was completed on time and within budget, ad we are very happy with our deck.

We needed a bigger space for our small business. Bob built a two car garage with storage space above that allowed us to conduct the business outside of the main house and freed up much needed space. It also allowed for great efficiency and expanded production.

We got to know several of the subcontractors that Bob used on our job. It was evident that they have a great deal of respect for him. I think that is about the highest compliment a builder can get.
Olivia and John Graffe
Bob was able to work with the basic drawings from an architect. He asked some questions about what we wanted to accomplish and the level of finish we were looking for. Then he provided us with a number of choices. Throughout it all he was upbeat, experienced and honest.

Bob took the time to meet and work with us on our budget. He let us do some of the work that we could handle-demo, hauling, painting- which kept our budget in check. In a word, Bob is flexible, which worked well for us.

It’s saying something when you hire the same contractor for three separate projects over twelve years. That only happens when the builder is professional, ethical, communicative, creative, budget conscious, quality minded, and most importantly, fun. All of these not only describe Bob, but also his stellar crew, and the subs he hires. Bob has shown the same enthusiasm for our smallest project to our whole house renovation. Whether he and his crew do the entire job, or we piece it out to some ourselves, Bob is always flexible to get the job done the way we want it done. There’s no way we’d hire anyone else for a project.

Bob simply restored our faith in contractors. He was honest, flexible, timely, patient and just plain fun. He took on a complex house remodel and turned it in to a completely different and fabulous home. Bob was not only our contractor, but part of our family for 6 months as our 2-year old curiously waited for Bob to arrive each morning.

Building a home can be both exciting and frightening; the coexisting opportunity to create a dream home while encountering one of the most significant financial expenditures of a lifetime. This process is found so stressful by some, that simply remodeling is a better option. For others, building a home from scratch is a lifetime goal and well worth the tumult that accompanies the brick and mortar. Finding the perfect match between the home builder and the architect, who can transform dreams into lines, and a builder who can create lines into structure, is based upon luck, word of mouth and research of letters such as this one. I highly recommend Bob Stewart with Stewart Construction, as a contracting company to transition your questions, thoughts, visions and architectural plans into a home that meets all of your aesthetic and functional goals.
My dream home was not an ordinary home and I did not want an ordinary builder. The land was both an architectural and structural challenge, as it was built on a critical slope overlooking Elliot Bay. It would function as a living space and museum for art, fabric, pottery and objects of curiosity collected during my travels and studies throughout the world. It would represent my philosophy of re-use in redesign: structural and accent items recycled from a previous time. Finally, it would serve as the setting for intimate dinners for two or parties for thirty: a place of solitude, where I could retreat from a busy world.
Anyone who has built a home will tell you of the financial surprises and time delays. There are unforeseen events and changes of thought. Bob was able to negotiate the events mitigating the stress, delays, and financial impact. He was always professional and realistic. He could envision with me, yet keep me from overstepping the financial cliff. It was a fun and self-fulfilling process, well overshadowing the brief times of terror or concern. Now, years later since the construction of my home, we have remained friends. Bob continues to be a valuable resource and one whom I trust, with no reservation in referral to others who want to peruse their dream custom built home.
