We were hired a few years back by an Island couple to remodel their kitchen and laundry room. The house was completely finished in cedar, and the goal of the project was to make the newly remodeled areas look as if they were original. We had to re-purpose the cabinets we took out to accommodate a larger range in order to match the patina of the existing ones. All the paneling we added had to be stained to look as if it had always been there. The butcher block counters were sanded completely flat in order to install a custom made kitchen sink. New tile was added as a back splash and a remote ventilation system was installed. In the laundry, we built all new cabinets and a new sewing table that look as if they had always been there. There was little room for error on this project and I think we got the details just right. Click on the pictures to view a slideshow of the project.
